Q:- Can you tell me how to type the conjuncts "ক্স" (ks) and "ক্ট" (kta) in Pagemaker? (For example: 'ৰিক্সা' (riksah - rickshaw), 'অক্টোবৰ' (oktobor - October))

 

Ans:- Open Pagemaker, press Ctrl+K on your keyboard. Then click on More. Uncheck the option on the right side that says < use typographer's quote > and click the OK button.

 

Q:- What should be done if "ক্স" and "ক্ট" still do not appear properly in Photoshop?

 

Ans:- Just like in Pagemaker, press Ctrl+K to open Preferences. In Photoshop, uncheck the option Use smart quotes and click OK.

 

Q:- How do I resolve this issue in MS-Word 2007 so that "ক্স" or "ক্ট" appears correctly?

 

Ans:- Click on the MS-Word Office Button. Click on Word Options at the bottom. Then click on Proofing and AutoCorrect Options. In both the AutoFormat and AutoFormat As You Type tabs, uncheck the option 'Straight quotes' with ‘smart quotes’. Now click OK and exit. Try typing now. For other versions of MS-Word, wherever the AutoFormat option is available, disable it in the same manner.

 

Q:- I am unable to type using the Geetanjali font in Pagemaker. That means the font is not showing up even after installation. However, the Geetanjali font appears in Word and other applications. What needs to be done?

 

Ans:- Pagemaker cannot process more than a total of 700 font files. We need to keep in mind that a single font family sometimes contains many font files. For example, the Arial font contains about 9 font files. Consequently, Windows cannot process fonts exceeding the 700 limit alongside Pagemaker, causing Pagemaker to drop or fail to recognize them. Therefore, recently installed fonts might not appear in Pagemaker. In such cases, delete some less important fonts from Windows fonts or cut and paste them into a separate folder, install the Ramdhenu fonts, and then you can reinstall the temporarily moved fonts.

 

Q:- When enlarging the ABTT Geetanjali font for flex printing or similar purposes, a dot/artifact appears which cannot be removed, causing difficulty. What is the solution?

 

Ans:- Install Version 2 or a later version of the ABTT Geetanjali font.

 

Q:- I don't have many fonts on my computer, but fonts like Geetanjali still do not show up. What should I do?

 

Ans:- There are two solutions for this:

 

1. Open your Ramdhenu font CD or DVD. Inside a folder named Font Collection, go to RDH Old Fonts and then the PFM folder. Select all the font files there by pressing Ctrl+A. Right-click on them and click Install or Install for all users. Restart your computer if necessary. If "Install for All User" is available, click that instead of just "Install".

    

2. In July 2019, a new Magic Font Installer for RamdhenuPlus was programmed to make installing this Geetanjali font easier and to fix the issue where fonts don't show up in Photoshop and InDesign. With this, you can install fonts on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, etc., in just two mouse clicks. Q:- I am unable to type conjuncts like "ক্ৰ" (kra) and "ক্ত" (kta) using the ABTT Geetanjali font in MS-Word. What should I do?

 

Ans:- Download ABTT Geetanjali font version 5 (2019). You can find this on the website www.ramdhenu.com. Then install it. Before downloading, you must log in to your account or sign up if you don't have one.

 

Q:- The hardware dongle that came with Ramdhenu Plus is lost or stolen; I only needed the dongle. I have the CD with me. How much will it cost?

 

Ans:- The license for the Ramdhenu Plus software is contained within the dongle. Safeguarding it is the user's responsibility. If it is lost or stolen, there is no option other than purchasing a new one.

 

Q:- Software capable of typing in Assamese is available in the market for a much lower price. Why should I buy this one at a higher price?

 

Ans:- This software is not just a software; it is a commitment. Ans:- Such a feature has already been programmed. However, there is another reason behind not providing this feature. To this day, many thousands of unemployed people earn their livelihood solely by typing in Assamese, Bengali, or Hindi. We proceeded with caution, believing that doing this would severely impact them. At the very least, we cannot bear the burden of the wrongdoing of taking away the livelihoods of two unemployed people.

 

Q:- Can Ramdhenu Plus be obtained without a dongle?

 

Ans:- You can purchase and use Ramdhenu Plus with a license key instead of a dongle. Just keep a couple of things in mind before deciding which one to choose: (1) If you have a dongle, you can install it on any Windows computer or laptop and use it wherever you plug the dongle in. For example, you can use the same dongle on your office desktop and home laptop. However, moving it around frequently can cause it to wear out faster. The downside is that many people lose them or misplace them. (2) But with a license key, it can only be installed on a single computer or laptop. There is no risk of the license key being stolen or lost elsewhere (unless the computer or laptop itself is stolen or broken). However, because this license key is tied to the computer's hard disk, motherboard, or CPU, if these components fail, the software will stop working. In such cases of a failed hard disk, you can re-register once. But since the motherboard represents the computer itself, if it fails or is replaced, you cannot re-register because the computer has effectively changed.

 

Q:- How do I install Ramdhenu Plus from the CD?

 

Ans:- To install Ramdhenu Plus, insert the CD into the drive and it will autorun. Then you can install it according to the installation instructions. If it does not autorun (i.e., the installation process does not start automatically), double-click the application file named something like RDHPlusV9301.exe inside the CD and follow the installation instructions. For Postscript fonts (like Geetanjalilight), select all the fonts inside the <Font Collection\RDH Fonts\PFM Old> folder by pressing Ctrl+A, right-click, and click Install or Install for all users. Restart the machine once if necessary.

 

Q:- How do I convert text from Geetanjali font to Unicode in Ramdhenu Plus?

 

Ans:- First, select and copy the text typed in the Geetanjali font. Then click on the Tools menu in Ramdhenu Plus and click Convert Geetanjali to Unicode (or press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+0). Next, open an MS Word page and paste it there. (Note: A "Rupantar Plus" tool has now been developed which can be purchased on our webpage. Rupantar Plus is fully professional. Q:- Can I type in the Geetanjali font in Ramdhenu Plus following a phonetic style or pronunciation? For example, is it possible by typing "kitap" to write "কিতাপ" (book) or "bandor" to write "বান্দৰ" (monkey)?

 

Ans:- Yes. To write like that in the Geetanjali font, first select AS/BN Phonetic Keyboard Layout from the Language menu.

 

Q:- I can type in Unicode using the INDIC keyboard layout. Can I type similarly in the Geetanjali font? (Like it's done in most Unicode typing tools). For example: typing consonant + vowel sign for "মোৰ" (mor - my) as ম + ো কাৰ, and for "কিতাপ" (kitap) as ক + ি + ত + া + প.

 

Ans:- Yes. To type like that in the Geetanjali font, first select AS/BN Phonetic Keyboard Layout from the Language menu, then go to the Tools menu and click on AS/BN non-unicode as INDIC. Now you can type.

 

Q:- How do I check text written in the Geetanjali font using the exclusive automated Assamese spell checker included with Ramdhenu Plus?

 

Ans:- First, open the spell checker (you will see an orange icon on the desktop; that is the spell checker). Copy the text typed in the Geetanjali font and paste it into the spell checker. Now click the START button on the right. First, it will automatically correct common typing mistakes. Then it will display the incorrect words to you one by one. It will try to present some alternative probable correct words for the shown mistake. If you find the correct form of the incorrect word in that list, double-click on that word. The incorrect word location will first be replaced with the correction. After this, click the CHANGE button to replace the corrected word with the wrong one. Alternatively, if the flagged word is a place name, person's name, etc., and you know it is already spelled correctly, you can click either the IGNORE or IGNORE_ALL button to move forward, or click the ADD button to add that word into the dictionary.

 

Q:- What should I do if alternative correct words are not shown against an incorrect word?

 

Ans:- If alternative correct words are not suggested for an incorrect word, manually type the correction right where the incorrect word is shown. Once corrected, click the CHANGE button. After fully correcting this way, click the COPY button to copy the text, and then paste it into Pagemaker or another application.

Q:- Antivirus software deletes or quarantines the Ramdhenu Plus application file. What should I do? Or, the Ramdhenu Plus shortcut disappears from the desktop. What should I do?

 

Ans:- Many antiviruses mistakenly delete our program file suspecting it contains a virus. To be honest, this must be called a major drawback of antivirus software. They update their virus database daily, keeping signatures of application files that are encrypted such that their antivirus software cannot easily decrypt them to check for viruses inside. As a result, instead of completely deleting them out of suspicion, they quarantine them. This is claimed to protect you from potential danger. Actually, some people write virus programs, encrypt them in that manner, and release them on the internet, and since it is impossible to decrypt every single one and check the virus signature, they set up quarantine rules for any new encrypted file. When a virus-free file is cut or quarantined under the assumption that it might be a virus, it is called a False Positive. The reason for explaining this in detail here is so that you do not panic thinking there is a virus in the Ramdhenu Plus file. Our files are completely virus-free. In fact, if a virus infects our file, our file itself displays a message and stops working. Therefore, go to the Quarantine option of your antivirus, click Restore and Exclude file and folder. Doing so will prevent it from showing a false positive or deleting it again. The same applies to Windows Defender.
